For one of my final university modules, I designed my own manifesto poster which contained a list of short phrases about how to have confidence in your own work as a junior designer. I was initially unsure of how the approach the poster design, but after taking inspiration from many existing designs, I felt that my manifesto would stand out and be eye catching if it were created using a western poster style. This style of poster grabs the attention of a passer-by and for a designer is the perfect style to show off the knowledge you have learnt.
As I was using a western style, I wanted to include all of the key elements that are contained within this type of design; I was able to use a variety of appropriate fonts aswell as a bold but welcoming colour palette. I also incorporated small icons including stars and pointing fingers which I had previously seen on these poster designs.
Junior Manifesto – Samantha Munro
The final poster is eye catching and reflects what my key focuses are as a designer. As it is a personal piece I want it to show my own abilities as a designer aswell as being visually appealing to an audience to look at and engage with.
I welcome your comments.
